I am a clinical psychologist, licensed in Oregon, Washington and California, with over thirty-five years experience in private practice. In addition I have trained and taught therapists in professional institutes and academic settings. In 2003 I relocated to Portland Oregon.

I offer both long-term and short-term therapy. Short term treatment is generally for those dealing with trauma, phobias, panic disorders, and grief. Longer term therapy is generally for dealing with chronic anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, sexual and physical abuse, dissociative disorders and addictions. In addition, I work with high functioning people to help them achieve more satisfaction in their lives and their relationships.

I practice as a psychotherapist and also as a teacher of therapists. I have broad and deep experience in the elements of psychodynamic therapies, including psychoanalytic Self Psychology and Intersubjectivity; Relational Gestalt Therapy; and EMDR. I derive great satisfaction in being able to call upon these different methods to meet the unique needs of each client and in consulting with therapists. I work with:

• Individuals: adults, adolescents and seniors.

• Couples: spouses, gay couples, familial and other relationships.

• Supervision and consultation with therapists: individually and in groups.
